What is Divine Astrology?
Dr. Louis Turi

Many times my students have asked me, "Dr. Turi, what is the difference between Divine Astrology and modern Astrology?" My answer is simple. "My method is deadly accurate and the other one will blur your spirit!" One is simple to assimilate, free of mathematical jargon; the other one will turn you into a detail-oriented astronomer and will persistently focus on the tree so that you will miss the entire forest.

With over 25 years of experience behind me, I have had the time to realize the differences and values involving both methodologies. Do not mix astronomy (by-product of Astrology), a science involving mathematics based on the practical investigation of the stars only, and Astrology, which is a more intuitional, symbolic way of looking at the stars. However, for the skeptics, scientists and "mental snobs" alike, it might take more than the limited five rational senses they were born with to enter the intuitional domain of my work.

Another form of Astrology is also available to the public; it is called Vedic Astrology. The Indians, meaning "the science of light" also refer to it as Jyotish Astrology; or the science involving the celestial bodies; or the stars reflecting their light upon our world. Unlike modern Astrology, Vedic and Divine Astrology disciplines were practiced for many thousands of years.

Some believe that Vedic Astrology, because it is such an old science, is no longer astronomically workable. They found that the Earth's rotation is not consistent and the wobble effect causes the equinoxes to proceed about 50 seconds every year. Thus, every 72 years we lose an entire day in our revolution and that would be disturbing the original distribution of the housing system.

Simply explained, Divine Astrology uses only the Tropical Zodiac while, Vedic Astrology seems to use the Sidereal Zodiac; which turns nearly every planet back one house and one sign. Vedic and Modern Astrology seem to work with certain people. In any case, we are all simply trying to further the true meaning of the stars, no matter what discipline is used.

One good thing about Divine Astrology is that, both Vedic and modern astrology mathematical methods "modus operandi" will not tamper with the Dragon. Mostly because the Dragon's Head and Tail (Moon nodes) will not change in such a short time. The Dragon resides over a year and a half, in one sign of the Zodiac. Both Vedic and modern astrological, mathematical methods tend to focus on the aspects, rising, degrees, solar and Saturn returns etc. and will not elaborate, as they should, on the Dragon itself.

Therefore, instead of the symbolic spiritual estimation, complicated mathematics are used to validate both systems and do, to a large extent, eliminate the old sciences' symbolic power. This is indeed quite frightening to the beginner student of astrology and is surely much harder to assimilate for the general public. This metaphorical universal language is missing and seriously confusing to the beginner.

Consequently more and more star students have turned to the original method of using the stars (as Nostradamus used to do) and took my course in Divine Astrology. There is more power, more information, more wisdom and more truth in the Dragon's position of the "Divine" Astrology system, than all the combined interpretations found in both the Vedic and the mundane Astrological interpretations.

To my judgment, Astrology is primarily an art where regulations and mathematical tasks must apply. However, confusing mathematics can be over indulged, to the point of blurring the symbolic values of the signs and in essence, stall the intuition. Astrology, as practiced today, is mostly financially oriented. You will find this in the daily horoscopes generated by some famous name, born with a shrew business mind. These "Astrologer enterprises" are often found in major newspapers and magazines. This type of service and many other televised psychic programs, have seriously hurt the integrity of the old discipline and take away real information from gullible consumers.

Digging into my usual pile of mail, once I came upon a junk mail contract form, that was sent by the thousands. It was from another "Psychic Organization, Inc." based in the U.S. The paperwork was addressed to a perspective intuitive counselor in search of a job from home. The "recitals" section mentioned:

Company is in the business of providing entertainment services through the use of "900" and "800" telephone service organization offering "psychic" themes.

Contractor is experienced in psychic matters, desires to "amuse" clients who call the entertainment service of company, and contractor is a self-employed independent contractor.

With this type of deceiving endeavor going on, not only is the "establishment" covering itself against lawsuits from abused clients, but also they separate themselves from the expensive insurance responsibility involving the hardworking telephone operator. Most of the benefit goes to the "Ma Bell" strongly, established Telephone Corporation, the rest goes to the mind manipulators and a meager share to the hired "psychic."

Some organizations offer a "training" course involving a psychic development, for a substantial price. Thus, the concerned "psychic" becomes also a client. You cannot train anyone to become a psychic - you are born psychic! It's like being born with long legs; if so, you will run much faster than others. Your celestial gifts were given to you at birth and limits are imposed by God upon either your physical or spiritual conception.

To be a real psychic, such as Nostradamus, is extremely rare. A specific set of stars and a solid "cabalistic" education that may last a lifetime, is usually imposed upon the soul at a very early age. In the famous Seer's case, both his Grandfathers, Pierre and Jean De Saint Remy were skillful cabalists and taught the young Michel De Notre Dame the secret of the stars, when he was a child.

Unless one is celestially tuned in and strongly educated in metaphysics (Astrology, numerology, tarot, etc.) there is no way to distinguish divine information from so-called "psychic's" deceiving imagination. But who really cares; as long as the "entertainment" industry keeps making money, there will be incompetence, ignorance, and manipulation.

Contrary to what the majority of people think, Astrology is very simple. It is based only on 12 specific energies commanding the 12 specific areas of the human experience. The Zodiac simply represents your watch, where the 12 hours of day expires endlessly. Sad enough, with time, those numbers took over and replaced the symbolic messages found in the 12 signs of the zodiac. Incidentally, 12 is a very old metaphysical number and was used in the representation of the 12 Apostles of Christ. There is also 12 jury members, 12 sins, 12 virtues, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 signs of the Zodiac, 12 months of the year, and the 12 hours of the day.

When teaching my students, I utilize a 15-foot by 7-foot celestial artwork. The idea is to help them to visualize and crystallize the zodiac on their inquisitive mind. Once a student masters the housing system, he is half way home. The purpose of this visual practice is to produce a mental reflex to recognize all areas of the human experience, almost immediately.

In that respect a student of mine can accurately read a person anywhere, any time, without an ephemeris or a computer. My students swiftly learn to do remarkable Astropsychology work, as they are able to discern and apply the symbolic values of each sign, in each house of the Zodiac. I keep reminding them that in a significant situation, they cannot and will not use their computer or refer to an ephemeris. Thus, only discipline, practice, and patience will produce a sensational Divine Astrologer.

Many modern teachers of Astrology are from the old school. They harass their students with complicated mathematical jargon; primarily pushing aside the symbolic, intuitive energy found in the symbols, affecting the houses. Teachers and students are just wasting their precious time by digging in the universal mind with a microscope. Predisposed to failure, many of those unhappy students drop out and many are wasted forever.

The committed ones keep looking for a better teacher and some of them end up taking my Divine Astrology course, successfully. Only then do they realize how true knowledge is passed on, blessed with the golden key to the Universe, they can in turn teach others precisely. If Astrology is to be re-integrated into our Universities and accepted as a solid discipline, incompetence is our opponent.

Wrong teachers, must be re-educated, or removed. Like wrong political leaders, they harm knowledge and slow down spiritual progress. There is no compromise in education, the hope for a better world is within our reach, with the right education. This belongs to the children's future as to own their trust, respect and understanding for each other. Back in July 1998 I was invited by the AFA (American Federation of Astrologers) to teach Divine Astrology. On my first speech, I encountered a strong resistance to my simplistic method. However, it did not take me very long to convert most of the audience to the real symbolic power found in the symbols and many of them took my course.
